String Ensemble
The school regards the development of ensembles
as a vital adjunct to the learning experiences of its student musicians, and as
such it is an essential element of the overall arts and cultural program. The school's String Ensemble prides itself on its high standard of performance and
students are expected to practice their music and attend rehearsals every week
to maintain their position in the ensemble.

Music Scholar Program
Students
selected for this program have been identified as having a very high level of
commitment to their music studies in regards to participation, practice and
sight reading ability. As a participant in this program, students will be
invited to perform as a group at various school and community events throughout
the year. Students will learn the repertoire for these performances during
their normal Thursday lessons.
Instrumental
Music Extension Program
Students
who choose to attend extension classes will work on extending their music
literacy skills, as well as developing as a solo musician. Extension class is
held every Tuesday afternoon from 2.30-3.30pm in the Spinifex Junior Campus
music room.
School Band
The school band prides itself on its high standard of performance and students are expected to practice their music and attend rehearsals every week to maintain their position in the band. Rehearsals are held at the Spinifex Senior Campus every Wednesday afternoon from 2.30-3.45pm.
