Wonder of Science inspires students to engage in rigorous, real-world STEM learning and to aspire for excellence in STEM. It encourages students to consider the exciting and diverse career pathways possible through STEM.
The Wonder of Science approach develops deep understanding of STEM concepts in students; promotes problem-solving skills, including critical, creative, collaborative and ethical thinking; develops the student capabilities required to achieve and succeed in a rapidly advancing and changing world; supports teacher capability for quality STEM teaching and learning.

Wonder of Science Regional Conference
Spinifex students have had much success at the Wonder of Science Regional Conference during our participation over the past 2 years:
- 2018 - Year 8 1st place Regional Champions
- 2019 - Year 8 1st place Regional Champions
- 2019 - Year 9 1St place Regional Champions
Wonder of Science State Conference
Spinifex students have been fortunate to place in the Wonder of Science State Conference at the Queensland University of Technology:
- 2018 - Year 8 2nd place State Championship
