Junior Campus Library

Junior Campus Library
The Fiction Section at the Junior Campus Library

Miss Georgina Waddell (Teacher Librarian) and Mrs Sarah Woods (Library Assistant) are permanently based in the Library and are always available and (usually) able to answer any questions that you may have for us.  We like a challenge!  Remember, the people who don’t ask questions remain clueless for the rest of their lives.

Library Opening Hours

Our Library is open from 8:00am to 2:30pm, unless there is a teacher organised event taking place.  For example, every Monday, after school homework classes are held in the Library from 2:20pm to 3:20pm.  This is an opportunity for students to get some extra help from their teachers with an assignment or preparing for an exam.
Library Rules
Our rules for using the Library are pretty straightforward:
  • Leave your bags in the bag racks when you are entering – they do not come onto the  carpeted area.
  • Don’t bring any food or drink onto the carpet.
  • Take your hat off before you enter and leave it in your bag.
  • No running or tiggy.
  • Don’t swing on the chairs – we’ve seen way too many accidents occur this way, and we are not big fans of trying to get blood out of the carpet.
  • Remember that this is a Library and there are people in here who are trying to study.  If you are doing something that would annoy you when you were trying to get something done, just take a second to think and be considerate of the people around you.
Online OPAC Link
At Junior Campus, our library database is managed through the Softlink program Oliver.  Students and Staff can access Oliver from any device simply by clicking here.
When accessing this site, you will be asked to enter your log on details.  Your username is the username that you use to log onto the school computers, and the password is universally set as spinifex.1 for all users at the start of every year.  Users will be asked to change their password the first time that they log on to Oliver.
If you forget your password, either come up to the Library and talk to us, or send Mrs Woods an email and we will reset your password for you.
Using Oliver, you will be able to:
·         Discover what resources we have available in our library
·         See if the book you want is on shelf or hired out
·         Reserve an item that we don’t currently have in stock so that you can have it when it comes back in
·         Check what items you have on loan and when they are due back
Request a book
If we don’t have a book that you want to read, you can request that we order it in either by coming up to the Library and asking us in person, or you can send an email to Mrs Woods and we will do our best to get it in for you as soon as possible. and we will do our best to get it in for you as soon as possible.
Library Book Lending Rules
All of our books have a standard two week loan period.  Students are able to borrow a maximum of two (2) books, and these need to be returned before they are able to borrow more.  Anyone with overdue items will not be permitted to borrow any more until the overdue items are returned.
Overdue Books
If a book is overdue, the student is given three separate reminder slips in their form rolls before a letter is sent home to the student’s parents.  If the item still isn’t returned, an invoice is sent to the parents for the replacement cost of the book.
